Application by APL Properties Limited to amend the Halifax Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and Halifax Peninsula Land Use By-law (LUB) to permit the application of a development agreement.
The applicant is proposing a two tower development containing 12 storeys on the western portion of the site and 28 storeys on the eastern portion, connected by a shared two to three storey podium which contains primarily commercial uses with limited shared residential amenity spaces. The building contains 201 dwelling units with the applicant indicating a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom units and 81 hotel rooms within floors of the podium. The site will provide 166 parking stalls divided between 3 parkade levels accessed off of Parker Street to the west. The project would contain 93 underground parking stalls divided between two levels with an additional 13 parking spaces at grade for a total of 106 parking stalls all accessed directly off of Robie Street
The subject properties are 21,760 square feet in area with approximately 450 feet of street frontage located on the northwest corner of Quinpool Road with approximately 200 feet of street frontage, located on the northwest side of Robie Street.
