Community By Design - Part 2
Tuesday, August 18th, 2015Part 2 of “Community By Design” is here!
In Community Design Part 2 we travel across Ontario to see how some municipalities are embracing experimentation and design to transform our cities. They are building from the story of that place and harnessing community to help design places that feel like home.
We follow-up on the story of Goderich from Part 1, visit Guelph’s Market Square, Toronto’s West Don Lands, and more.
While buzz words like “high density” and “mixed use” are standard in planning conversations, it is not always clear how to put these ideas into practice. Planners and city staff from all over Ontario are taking risks and experimenting with new design ideas to transform our cities. They are embracing the culture of “learning by doing” to test their ideas in the real world.
Tune in to find how these cities are revamping their communities by pushing the boundaries and challenging what is to have “good design”!
